Summary: | We're shown news coverage of Iron Man
defeating the giant robot Ultimo, and that after the defeat SHIELD
stored the giant robot head in SHIELD Storage Facility Omega, located in
the Appalachian Mountains until the head was stolen by Zemo and his
Masters of Evil. At the Avengers Mansion, the Wasp is trying to gather the Avengers for a team photograph, with no support and little success. Oh well, at least they're all on-hand when Ultimo attacks the city! The Avengers engage Ultimo in battle, and the Masters of Evil show up to stop them. The Wasp continues to try and get people into group action shots, but not with a lot of success. The Avengers are successful, and Zemo wants to pull out, until Wonder Man says he's going to stay; destroying the Avengers is one thing, but destroying New York City is something else again. The Masters of Evil join the Avengers in taking Ultimo down, and when they're done the Enchantress uses her powers to evac the Masters of Evil away from the scene. Ultimo defeated, the Wasp asks a passerby named Peter Parker to take her team group shot, which is the last page of the story. Following the story are several more of the bonus profiles that have characterized the whole limited series, and a four-page preview of the "Thor: Mighty Avenger" graphic novel. |
Commentary | I'm slowly
getting used to the art style of the artists, which is kind of similar
to the art style of the animation; I don't see the similarities, but
others say its close. I'd have prefered something from the
neo-realistic schools of Jim Lee, Jim Starlin, or George Perez, but I'm
getting used to it; unfortunately, this is the last issue... The story is told in a photojournalistic style; many of the panels are from the Wasp's camera, with little post-it note-style notes with her comments. Its a very original idea, and gives us some nice pin-up shots, like the Hulk being blasted full-force by Ultimo's eye-beams. All in all, a fitting way to end-cap the Limited Series, with a team photograph pin-up! |
